What inspired you to volunteer your time and talents with the UW Initiative to End Alzheimer’s?
“When asked, I was happy to join the UW Initiative to End Alzheimer’s (IEA) Board of Visitors, as I’d long felt that Alzheimer’s was a terrible disease and it was the one disease I was most afraid I would get myself. As I learned more about Alzheimer’s I realized that it was a disease that had no current cure and was historically greatly underfunded. I learned about the varied Alzheimer’s disease research being done at UW-Madison and the importance of getting the word out about what our researchers were accomplishing so that more funding could flow to the IEA so that one day there could possibly be a cure.”
